  1. Hello, Pete --

I'm posting this comment because I don't see a Contact link. I was at BEA but didn't find you until today while going through BookCon's exhibitor list. I like the story pitch in your trailer. Are you looking for an agent? I'd like to read this as a PDF or Kindle.

  2. Mr. McNeil, I received the book a few days after you sent it and i read the first few pages and put it in my drawer and said I will get around to it, as I am going through my own dilemma with the Post Office, dealing with an on the job injury and its been one of the most craziest things i have ever experienced. I have never met so much deceit in my entire life. So anyway ,Thursday I picked the book up again and began to read and Omg, I couldn't put it down, it was like you were sitting right at my job recording, that's how real every single character felt to me ,all i can say is wow!!! I loved it, the book was superb!! I could go on and on but when I tell you I work with, Freeman, James, Lou, Shabazz, Devine ,Manny , Velour and the rest of the crew ,I see them everyday when I clock in, the funny thing is I'm more like Cadina, cooking is what I love to do, and I'm great at it, But Here I am at the post office. This book truly spoke volumes to my soul. Thank you so much!!

Mr. McNeil, I would just like to thank you for your wonderful craft of writing, I now have a brand new perspective and a new found respect for Postal workers all over the world, thank you so much for your book POSTAL!! Brilliant!, Entertaining, Funny, Suspenseful and so wonderfully put together. As a writer, I always find myself critiquing and book instead of reading it, but I have found with this one and others that I can just enjoy your craft! it was the best $20.00 I have spent! Again thank you! It was a truly awesome read, and if my GPA slips, it's all because I was not studying, I was reading POSTAL!!!! LOVED IT!! Give hellos and hugs to your wife and the family-a new fan for life, Valerie (got your book at the Towson Heritage Fair) Oh, and my sister Celestine Bess says to tell you "That book was gooooooodddddd!, I could not put it down". Peace and blessings!

  5. Postal was a very entertaining book. When I first seen the cover, I thought it was going to about some guy who actually went "postal". lol I, myself, am a current postal employee so a lot of the jargon hit home for me. But Postal is not a documentary on the post office or a "reveal all" because honestly there are some things that people will never relate to because they never been in that situation before. What the book does reveal though, is that no matter what job we do or where we are from, we are still approached with the same pressures and stressors as everyone else. Sometimes we look at others and think because they make more money or have a certain job title that they A. don't have to work hard or B. that bad things in life won't bother them. The book starts off with Freeman dealing with a lot and turning to alcohol to cope. In fact, each character I can honestly say that I met in some shape or form in the post office. lol The flamboyant Velour. Lex, the guy who really only cares about himself and do whatever it takes to get to the next level, even if it means kissing up. lol Divine the voice of reason who also occasionally oversteps boundaries but with good intent. James, the good brother who has been hurt in the worst way imaginable but not trying to let it affect his current love life. Freeman overlooking red flags because of a woman's looks. And Cadina...I wouldn't want to spoil that for you but Postal is a must read, especially for any postal worker. Peter McNeil does an excellent job of potraying the characters with believable personalities and depicting them in realistic situations. There's lots of twists and turns,.and this novel will keep you on edge until the end. Also, will provide more than a few laughs. Go pick this up today

  8. Postal by Peter McNeil is not your normal novel; it captures your attention from the start. This is a book that gives you an insight of the operation at our local post offices. The book is filled with love, work drama, family drama, romance, laughter and surprises. I felt connected to each connected to the characters-some are just plain crazy. Thumbs up to Peter McNeil on writing this awesome book, I enjoyed reading Postal and is a must read.

  9. WoW and I mean Wow, this book was excellent. When I started reading this book I thought I will knock this out in 3 days. Then I said I will have to ration this book its so good. I loved the characters, Lou, Roy Nevelle, Freeman, stank Velour, mean as- Vincent and his crew, Trevor, Candia, the list goes on like I knew these people. I took me 2 days to finish the last couple of chapters because like great things it had to end. And very well it did, you pulled some doseys, and some parts were the way they should have ended. Look what you have started, man whens the next book. I met you at the Aggies homecoming and I am glad I did. Ummm don't for get to put me on the list. Bless you and you family. I will never look at a post office again in my life the same, except up here there are mostly white people 80%, well anyway job well done. Ms LaVerna

  20. Greetings Mr. McNeil:

I just finished reading Postal. Great book! Wow! The twist and turns were intriguing - I never saw a lot of the story line coming. As a native New Yorker, it was also nice to be drawn back into some familiar territory, especially your description of the #5 train coming out of tunnel. That was my old stomping ground, where I grew up, Jackson and Westchester Avenue. I can't believe that Freeman, Lexington, Cadina, etc. will no longer be a part of my day - I have enjoyed them. Is book #2 in the works? Once again thank you for a great read!

    Blessings,

    Michelle Smart

  22. Postal' is a must read. It's the best book I've read in a very long time. It has evoked every emotion I have. I've laughed, cried, been angry, dissappointed, anticipated, surprised, been in suspense, etc. Each character is so well developed. All I can say is Wow! Every page leaves you wanting more. This is a book that would appeal to any/all audiences. I'd recommend this book to anyone!!! Postal - A brilliantly created work of art!

  25. Absolutely Addictive!

It`s been awhile since I've been able to finish a book unless it was nonfiction, because I've found it difficult to discover a book interesting enough to hold my attention from start to finish, but Postal is not your average novel, it IMMEDIATELY captures your full attention and will keep you enthralled and wanting more from the first chapter until the very end. Postal has it all: mystery, suspense, unexpected plot twist, romance, work drama, family drama, relationship drama, and lots of comedy!!! I was angry, overjoyed, shocked and literally laughing out load throughout this book. McNeil delivers such a fine narrative that flows as beautifully as he writes. His characters shine with so much personality, charm, wit, humor, and they are TRULY believable. You will feel as if you're connected to every one of these colorful characters in this book and you will feel as if you know them all! This book made me experience EVERY emotion possible...sometimes all at once!!!!!! I read this book (the Nook version is 1597 pages) in one week and it would have been shorter had I not left my Nook at home one day! (Oh the misery!) I really did NOT want it to end and hope that there will be a sequel to this one very soon!!!! Kudos to Peter McNeil for painting such a vivid picture of a world we all may think we know but really have no idea. This book is truly a pleasure and is definitely a MUST READ for everyone!!!!

  26. Hello Pete,

I am not sure if you remember me, but you were in Atlanta for a book convention and you came to an IHOP where my family and I waited outside. Nonetheless, I purchased your book and I have to say that it was FREAKIN' AWESOME. I didn't know what to expect at first, but I need you to hurry and get another book out.

The characters were so believable and realistic. I had many nights where I had to force myself to put the book down. OMG... Words just don't describe the excellence.

I loved James and Cadina's story.
Freeman, wow.. he definitely went through alot.
Lexington, the villian. I wanted to curse him out a time or two.
Either way, thanks for the fantabulous read.
    5 stars
